A French Village is one of the very best series (in any language) I've ever watched. May not be suitable for all tweens, so decide based on your own child's maturity. But it is so, so good.
A French village is all sex sex sex - def not suitable
Lupin however is excellent - there are 2 seasons on Netflix and a 3rd in the making.

French media, in general, is going to have a lot more sex and nudity. On the flip side, generally less graphic violence. Americans are the reverse.

I don't know if it's streaming for free, but it's well worth the rental price.
I used to show it to my 9th grade class. It's excellent and very accessible to boys that age.

NP, looks like it's on HBO Max. Thanks. In your class, do you leave subtitles on? (Curious, it's been a long time since I learned a foreign language. We had to sit through all those episodes of Robert and Meirelle)
