When my child moved in Fall of 2020, not only were we not allowed in the dorm, but DC could only make 1 trip from the car in (before starting a quarentine) so it was just what could be carried. A big suitcase and a roller duffle. We shipped anything else. In some ways it made things easier. Only bare essentials which is really all kids need and have space for.

Yes. Parents weren’t allowed in the dorms all year (including move in and parents weekend)

That’s a summer program. I’m guessing she was traveling a lot lighter than an incoming freshman might be. My kids schools are permitting parents in the dorms this fall.

[OP, not dropping off a college kid at college, but rather dropping off a HS kid at a program that takes place at a college]

Colleges have had various rules (often changing) due to covid. Could be no parents allowed in or only one allowed in, could have a strict time limit for parent help at move in, could have no visitors at all policies. Or could have none of the above - basically the same as pre pandemic. I don't know anything about HS programs.

So you didn't even help them lug their stuff to their rooms? That's foreign to me frankly. We helped unload and brought tons of stuff up three flights of stairs, then kissed goodbye and they did the rest (ok I made the bed). We were allowed inside last year at freshman move in and move out.

Not allowed for orientation but will be allowed for move-in.

It’s because it’s a high school program. Parents are allowed in for college drop-off.
