OP here. Thanks, Jeff! I'll see if I can find a few this weekend. Agree there might not be many, as yes, they get buried.

I'm glad you are considering it. I think that transition points are always those areas where many people could use advice. There is so much advice on the preparation and having someone enter into the nest, but not much on the fledging process.

My kids are only 14 & 15 but I'd love that forum to exist, for future advice and for advice when they're actually older.

I've been with you since my kids were in elementary. Time flies! So, since "once a mom or dad, always a mom or dad," it would be nice to discuss issues related to adult kids. The Teens and Tweens forum doesn't work, and there are so many issues that are not related to the college forum (which is mostly about college admissions)

I have been thinking that such a forum would be a good addition. The one problem is that I normally only like to create new forums when there are a bunch of existing threads that can be moved into it. I don't know that we have a lot of those now. So, this forum might have to be started without any threads and I'll need help from you folks to identify threads that can be moved into it.

I have been seeing a few threads of this sort pop up in the College forum and I have been moving them to family relationships. But I assume they then get lost in the mountains of "MIL" threads.

So, I'll see if I can find the time this weekend to add this forum.

I'm still very much in favor of an inlaws forum so that I can never click on it.

My kids are 17 and 22 and I'd love to have a forum like this. I'm happy to help identify threads that could be moved into a new forum.

+1 I don’t think we need a separate forum, this seems like the obvious venue. Otherwise we’d need a “Adult Children of Elderly Parents” forum and a “Adult Sibling Relationships” forum. It just makes more sense to put them altogether and let people self select which individual threads they pay attention to.

Let me answer every thread that would in that forum:

"Land your helicopter Mama, your kid is an adult"

Nobody is raising their elderly parents either but it's nice to have a forum more dedicated to those types of family issues.

Hi Jeff,

I've been with you since my kids were in elementary. Time flies! So, since "once a mom or dad, always a mom or dad," it would be nice to discuss issues related to adult kids. The Teens and Tweens forum doesn't work, and there are so many issues that are not related to the college forum (which is mostly about college admissions)
