We didn't tell the nanny to. But what was the nanny supposed to do all day in the new house? If the kids are happily coloring or playing pretend, why can't the nanny take clothes out of boxes and put them in closets and dressers? Take books out and put them on shelves?
This is fine. They were excited to "help" so the nanny facilitated their activity. Did they get much done, no. Did they feel involved and like they had some influence over their new space, yes.
