I’m Eddie Cano or Lupo Verde is my go to for out of town era who you’re not sure how adventurous they are. Good food and great vibe.

Estadio is great if they’re up for sharing.

Maybe something Jose Andres if they know/are into him.

Kind of depends on what price point you want. Moon rabbit at the wharf is awesome. Sababa (excellent for brunch, too). And I have had great experiences at Nina May.

I’m always a big fan of Hanks - you can enjoy the Wharf after.

These places have good/reasonably priced food (reasonable for DC, not cheap, but definitely not expense account).

Ramen at Daikaya or Bantam King
Mexican/Salvadoran food at El Sol (or go to sister Mezcalero in Petworth)
Thai at Baan Siam
anything at Unconventional Diner

And for more casual/fast casual:
Chaia Tacos
Call Your Mother (bagels/sandwiches)
Shouk
Little Sesame
