Subject: Number of Follicles for IUI a Predictor for Egg Retrieval?

They use these meds on minimal stim IVF. A regular IVF cycle uses the stronger injectables.

You can have too many follicles for IUI because the RE doesn't want to be in the news for making the next octomom. Agree with PP. On average you will undershoot your AFC a little (some follicles are empty)

your AFC (antral follicle count) on CD2/3 is the best predictor for IVF. having one for IUI Is common, even with drugs.

I have a done a few medicated IUI cycles with Letrozole and each time only had one follicle develop. This was surprising because based on my initial work up my DR thought I might develop too many follicles. I'm now planning to move on to IVF, but I'm feeling discouraged. Did anyone else only have 1 follicle with IUI but still got a good number of eggs with retrieval?
