You just need the number of the card. If you used it to register for smart benefits at work, there’s a change you wrote it down somewhere, or you already registered it with wmata

If it was registered through your wmata account just get and add a new card to the account and call customer service to have them transfer the balance. Not sure how it works if you never registered it…

When I transferred my card to the phone, I had to put the phone on the card so the phone could read the card's chip. I've lost a card before and I just called WMATA and they sent a new one since it was registered. Pretty simple and easy. I don't know if they can do it at the sales or commuter offices.

Ok thank you. That’s what I expected. I’ll report it missing.

Is there a way to move a smartrip credit to apple wallet without the plastic card ? I lost it in a move and just started using metro again (today). Had added additional fare to card account before realizing it was not how you used it at station/on bus.

Help? Do I need to contact WMATA or go to Metro Center? Should I report card lost or is there a workaround?
