Np. How did you fix your ferritin? Mine is very low even though my iron levels are within normal range.

Get your blood tested to rule out anything underlying your hair loss and see about getting a prescription for spironolactone. I had tried everything including nutrafol (which has helped some) and PRP therapy, and spiro stopped the hair loss immediately and I've noticed regrowth and thicker hair. I have no underlying condition--for me it's hereditary.

Iron and vitamin d made a big difference. I take a liquid iron and it’s tolerable.

NP: Ferritin is iron. get your iron levels checked.

Your ferritin level needs to be at least 50 or even 100 for improved hair growth. And it takes a long time of supplementing with iron to get it to that level. Anyway, it’s a good idea to get bloodwork for possible vitamin and mineral deficiencies as well as hormone levels.

I started Spironolactone in April—it’s technically for high blood pressure but also can be used to reverse female pattern baldness. My dermatologist prescribed it when I said my individual strands of hair were getting skinnier and that I was losing hair that was only a couple of inches long. It can take up to six months to see results, but I’m definitely losing less hair in the shower.

nutrafol helped me stop losing hair. I am not sure it helped me regrow any.

Yes, 54 yo F. Doubled dose of estrogen patch. Started nutrafol balance, minoxidil oral via MD, stopped taking wellbutrin (causes hair loss in about 1 in 10 patients). Also, major stressor has become less of an issue.

It’s unclear which intervention(s) helped the most because I undertook them all at about the same time (and not all solely for hair loss exclusively, ie, wellbutrin was a dumb idea to begin with and HRT alleviates multiple problems)
