I don’t love my Havertys sofa, however, my parents have one that has held up like a tank almost 10 years

Generally, I’m not sure the cost to quality ratio works out for Bassett

To the anonymous person that want to know where you should buy your sofa from .
I would choose Haverty’s.
They have beautiful furniture. I bought from both places . I think Bassett furniture is expensive for no reason. I think Haverty’s have excellent and solid quality furniture. I think you get what you pay for . Plus you can’t go wrong with a warranty.
I hope this helped!

I bought 2 sofas from Bassett last year. It was delivered in Nov. or Dec. I'm happy with it so far. No pilling. Sales person was nice and delivery a bit earlier than promised (maybe 2 weeks). I have no basis of comparison to Haverty's. I did a ton shopping and my second choice was a sofa from LazyBoy. So you might check there. Past LazyBoy furniture has really held up well for us. I agree with PP -- upholstered furniture can be expected to have a lifespan of about 10-15 years. Maybe 20, if you don't have kids or pets.

I have a fabric sectional from Bassett (Beckham). Super comfortable and I like that it can be configured really well. However, I wouldn’t say it’s high quality, and I was less than impressed with customer service in the first few months when it started to pill.

Personally, I don’t think any furniture is made to last 10-15 years. But if you’re going with leather, maybe that will hold up better.

We’re in the market for a sofa for our living room. It’s a high traffic area and the sofa will get tons of use. Needs to hold up to the wear and tear. Our current sectional was bought from Belfort (under $2K for the set) and is finally showing signs of wear after 10 years of use.
The set we liked at Havertys is just under $5k, is fabric and can be delivered in 7-9 weeks.
The one we liked at Bassett is around $12k, is nubuck leather and has a lead time of 12-16 weeks.
This is the first time we’re buying from either of these stores so would love to hear what the experience is like. Also, how does Bassett compare vs Havertys? If neither of these, where else should we look? Ideally we’d like to spend under 5k for a sofa, but I don’t know if that’s realistic price point for a quality product that we can use for another 10-15 yrs. In the other hand, am I being wasteful in spending over $10k on something that will get tons of use? I’m super confused, and would appreciate any tips / advice.
