At school absolutely. Private school is much more strict with behavior. They can also kick you out anytime they want. They don’t put up with much.

Outside of school they’re just like every other kid.

Please tell me what school this is. In my experience schools just ignore it, especially if parents donate a lot in money or time. It’s a huge detriment to the kid and other students, but happens all the time.

Haha no! I went to private schools and public schools and my kids go to private. There are good and bad kids at both, but private school kids are sneakier and have access to better lawyers if they get in trouble.

I would say there is less traditionally disruptive classroom behavior but there can be more social challenges and pressure among peers.

Yes, private school kids have better behavior (at school). I think it’s a combination on counseling out badly behaved kids and having stricter protocols. Family helps too.

When my kid was in public school there were only 3 kids that behaved badly, but they were really bad. Screaming, hitting, talking etc. This behavior would not be tolerated in my kids current private school (we have been in private more than in public at this point)

I have experience in both settings. I agree with this. The kids are held to a higher expectations for their behavior and the enforcement is stronger. I wouldn’t say they are naturally better behaved.

Better behaved in the classroom? Sure, due to a variety of factors (stricter policies, kids with more resources and oversight, etc.).

Better behaved outside of school? No.

There are certain extremes of behavior that will get you expelled at private but not a public, or turned down in the application process based on recommendations.

Lower student:teacher ratios, more developmentally appropriate schedules (e.g. recess), and fewer mid year transitions because kids aren’t moving in and out as much can make classroom management easier.

But lots of entitled behavior.

In my experience yes kids that go to private school are better behaved. I'm sure part of it is because the school demands it and if you don't follow the rules they can kick you out of the school. Generally speaking, parents that send their children to private school teach/expect similar behavior outside of school. This does not mean that there are not families at public school that expect and teach good behavior of their children. But there is also a mix of children that are not well behaved and the parents don't seem to care. In a public school you get both. In a private school the bad behavior is either corrected or removed.
