If there was a pay phone outside the front office this was decades ago. I think there was a lot less pressure on us than the current generation. Getting into good colleges is way harder now and way more competitive now. Just getting through HS and all the advanced classes that are needed to show sufficient rigor for admission to good colleges is way harder now.
I spent much of HS day dreaming, was often late or not paying attention and just studied for a couple of weeks before exam week. I also got into the two good colleges I applied to. That is simply not possible for my children.
