+1

If I could just walk around naked, I would be fine if I scared every last human off my path.

The only good thing, is that the days will begin to get shorter in 5 days.

This is me in the winter.

^ forgot about voile cotton, probably the lightest option. Also needs a lining. I just bought a voile cotton dress with thin cotton lining, and it's great for these temps.

Same. DH and I are planning to move because I've reached my limit.

No active wear. It's polyester and polyester is the worst sweat maker. Although of course if you run, you're going to sweat anyway. But for usual clothes, I find lightweight linen or breezy cotton to be the best, and not knit cotton like jersey, which clings, but woven cottons, like poplin. I have a number of poplin dresses. I also have muslin cotton (gauze), but in order for it not to be see-through, you need two layers, which is still better than most linens and jersey cotton, because muslin clothes are usually styled in a breezy sort of cut.

Polyester is everywhere these days, but it's worth it to find the 100% cotton clothing.

I feel you. Personally - My therapist says I have unrealistic expectations of summer, based on my childhood history of happy carefree summers spent entirely at the beach in a family cottage long since sold. I know I'm privileged to have had glorious summers in my youth, but they are long gone. Current reality - can't afford a VRBO for a week at the same beach, stuck in the 'burbs with ridiculous heat, mosquitoes, traffic. I actually got heat stroke (really, medically) from running in a local park. Summer, for me, will never be great again. I feel you.

I don't love the humidity, but I truly prefer summer to winter. Despite sweating and bug bites, I prefer the long days, more sunshine, not having to cart layers of clothing everywhere, no stress about holidays, etc.

So move. I don’t get this - you know that the DC metro area gets hot and muggy every year. Figure out which is most important to you and live in that location. (We noped the heck out of the area)

And give up sugar. I find that I don’t feel as overwhelmed when I’m keeping track of the carbs and sugars I’m eating.

I thought this was going to be about office air conditioning. My annual gripe is that all the women need to freeze and we are killing the planet just to maintain a social norm that men wear long sleeved shirts and pants to work.

Same. Summer is my least favorite season. I hate the humidity. And the frequent thunderstorms. I’d much rather deal with winter weather. I think my dog feels the same. He just drags along on summer walks.

Total sympathy with the added complaint that I’m a mosquito magnet and won’t be free until things freeze in November or December 😭
