I think it’s good OP is getting good support here, but I don’t think it’s that alarming she has her kids in the car while she stepped out to cry (and is presumably right next to the car). Sometimes for me, having the kids in car seats is the only break I can get since my kids are so wild and destructive.

I’m glad OP Is getting all these resources but let’s not make such a huge thing out of the kids being in the car. OP hasn’t said anything indicating she’s thinking to harm them or herself.

+1. If a stranger pulled up in front of my house and asked for help with PPD I would help. Most women would. Many of us have experienced PPD.

Take it seriously. Demand help. And get your kids out of the car right now.

Please bring your kids inside before you do anything else, then call your DH and tell him he needs to come home now. Then call your OB and tell them you are a danger to yourself and the children and need to be seen NOW.

I immediately got a video appointment with Kaiser and they prescribed meds right then. I drove and picked them up immediately. Most doctors have video or phone appointments now.

Sadly the meds don't work instantly and it might be a week before you really feel better. Hang in there!

Call your OB. They will see you today for PPD. I had to do that too. Hang in there.

You left your children in the car with AC running. On the name of God , call your DH and tell him to come home immediately. Call your OB and tell them you need help with PP. Do you have a neighbor who's at home. If so, ask them to come over and call a friend and tell them how you feel. Where do you live because I will come over if you're close to me. Get those children out of the car and bring them inside now.

I called my OB office and insisted on being seen that day (told the scheduler that it was a 'mood' issue and really quite urgent), they scheduled a telehealth appointment for me and the Dr prescribed meds after I told them what was going on. Took a few days for the meds to kick in but in the meantime my husband took more time off and we found a way for me to get more sleep.

Urgent Care would be fine. You can also ask for an urgent telehelath visit or phone call with your primary care physician or your OBYN. Even call your pediatrician, he or she may have some resources.
