I just want to say, as someone who has voted for Eric Goulet, that my vote has nothing to do with whatever advertising "dark" or any other money may have bought. I really haven't seen any advertising other than the campaign signs up and down the roads in Ward 3. My vote has mainly been based on what I have read in these forums, including my positive reaction to Goulet's interest in speaking up and doing something about crime in Ward 3 and my negative reaction to the obvious smear campaign a few people have been engaged in against him. I want to see more Council members who are centrist, business-friendly and serious about reducing out-of-control crime in our city. I want the Ward 3 Councilmember to actually represent Ward 3.

Sorry, who is funding this Goulet character, then?

It does make you wonder why she didn’t do it earlier. What happened over the weekend that brought her around? The NIMBYs upped their anti-Tricia campaign but that was only helping her, in a big way. And what if OCF decides to throw Goulet out of the race for an undeclared contribution? Did she get word that wasn’t going to happen. Is there a poll that no one else knows about. She made the right decision, but why couldn’t it have been made a week or two ago?

I have tons of respect for Duncan for doing this. If she ever runs for a different seat, she had my vote.

It’s sad as she would have made a terrific councilmember but the right thing to do. It was a nice touch that she waited until after Queen NIMBY of Foxhall had wasted thousands of dollars and hundreds of hours printing and distributing anti-Tricia propaganda.
