I think a lot of houses in Nova that people pay $800k+ for are ugly and no better than NCP.

These houses are perfectly fine for most people

There are a few homes here and there that are nice but in general it's small homes on small lots.

There's a number of sex offenders who live up there.

Not a bad area, but it's a bit too exurban for me. Once you get past Hyattsville, things get increasingly exurban.

I have friends there. Close walk to metro, MOMS, good biking paths. Hollywood ES has a good reputation. Small and close knit school community.

Also the great thing about CP is if your neighbors are rowdy you can call noise police on them.

I live in the Hollywood neighborhood in North CP. I love it here! I can't vouch on the schools as we don't have any children, but the neighborhood is great and has seen a lot of great changes over the six years I have been living here.

We have a lot of long term residents here but we also have a lot of younger folks moving in. We have a new dog park which recently opened, the new Hollywood Streetscape project which is adding a fitness trail around the shopping center where MoM's is located. The city just recently finished the new city hall with outside space and hosted their first Pride event where my bf and I met more of our neighbors.

We have some college students renting rooms in the area but this area doesn't have the noise and large parties the other parts of town have closer to UMD. The location is perfect, as we can get in and out of the city with the Metro being in walking distance and being close to the highways. There are also a big bike trail network which links to the Anacostia Trail which goes into DC.

If drunk college kids worry you in terms of danger, idk where you can live.

Pretty safe, fairly quiet. Has a very working class vibe but people seem very friendly and low key. Lots are pretty small.
