Honestly, these sound like good prices to me. Pretty sure insurance covered it's annual max - $2K and the rest was very expensive. Like $4K out of pocket, maybe $5K.

Same here.

Seems about right with insurance. I believe I paid in the $980 range for mine after insurance.

You’re fortunate to have good enough insurance to pay less than 900 for a crown. My crown cost me 1,500 out of pocket (total cost was about 2.5k).

Yea, OP here and I think it was around $600+ to get the tooth out, and get the bone graft (out of pocket). Then 959 for the implant.

I will still have to pay for the crown this fall, but my understanding is that is cheaper than the actual implant procedure.

Helpful info - I will stop complaining!

I think mine was around $2k total and insurance covered half.

Anonymous wrote:I’m paying about $1k/tooth for a bridge replacement; implant was about twice that cost, but I’d also need a bone graft which would drive the cost up more. This is the 3rd quote I got, one was about the same and the other was much higher.

Sounds like you got a good deal.

Going through this same situation with my 18-year old. Orthodontist & dentist both agreed the Maryland? bridge was a fine option since he would require bone graft for implant. After insurance about $1000. In Richmond with MetLife dental.

Okay good to know. Thanks for replying!

Do you have dental insurance or was this the price even with coverage?

Anyway, I kept hearing that a lot of people don't get implants because of the cost, but it seemed like my insurance company was going to pay for most of it. Well, I just got a bill for $959. The estimate I got from my oral surgeon was more on the $450 range that I would have to pay.

I am lucky that I can afford to pay that (and would have gotten the implant regardless, I researched and it was the best option in terms of life and health of the tooth and bone).

I am going to call my insurance company tomorrow to make sure it was billed correctly. I'll pay it and move on. But just thought I'd see what others paid for their implant. Thanks!

Who is your oral surgeon?

I go to Greater Maryland Oral Surgeons. I used them about 12 years ago for an impacted wisdom tooth and they were excellent. Planning on using them for when my kids' needs their's out as well. Highly recommend.
