Jello is not vegetarian unless you buy a very special package found in natural food areas and as a vegetarian I would assume any Jello I would see would not be vegetarian.

Wouldn't Jello not be VEGAN but still fine for vegetarian? If a vegetarian will eat cheese, eggs, drink milk, etc. then wouldn't jello be fine?

ni b/c gelatin is made by cooking the bones of (hopefully) slaughtered animals. Its the melted bone marrow , so no vegetarians cant eat it. milk and eggs aren't gotten by hurting animals, honey is questionable. .

I think pizza bagels crosses the line to a meal at least for my kids. I guess you could make 2 per kid to keep it light.

Setting aside the vegetarian question, Jello seems like the exact opposite of what I'd want a bunch of kids eating while sitting around on my couch and playing games. Nothing that requires a spoon!

Gelatin is made from animal bones/skin. It is absolutely not vegetarian. Different from eggs and milk in that you can't get it without killing an animal.

Some cheese is made with rennet (from animal stomachs) and isn't vegetarian, but many producers have switched over to plant-based enzymes instead of rennet now so more and more cheese is actually vegetarian (though obviously not vegan).

And some vegetarians are less strict and don't worry about things like rennet and gelatin.

Yes but they label themselves “gel” packs so since OP specifically asked about vegetarian I wanted to clarify about Jello.

I would avoid nuts because so many kids have nut allergies.

String cheese and apple slices.

Kids range from 8-12 and a few are vegetarian. These would be snacks that are not too heavy so they don’t ruin their appetite for dinner (some eat early). Nothing too messy because they eat on the couch while they watch movies or play games. We have done fruit, popsicles, popcorn. What else? I don’t mind cooking but don’t object to buying.
