I have two uncircumcised teenager sons, who have never brought it up. I don't think they care to know what other teens have either.

At school the taught them that some boys are circumcised and some are not.

My Arlington boy is finishing up eighth grade and has yet to be in any “locker room” situation where anyone is looking at his equipment - he’s not on swim team. By the time he gets to a situation where other guys might get a peek, most guys don’t want to be caught checking out each other’s “junk”, and most likely the only comments might be about size, which no one can control.

So do it or don’t, but don’t use the “locker room” as an excuse. I gave my DH the deciding vote, because I don’t have rhe equipment.

I’m in arlington, but delivered in Dc at Sibley. According to my OB, since the procedure isn’t covered by insurance, people without means are choosing not to do it. So, I’d guess most boys at Williamsburg, if both here, will be circ. Most at Kenmore South of 50 won’t be. It’s mostly a socioeconomic thing.

I don't know about Arlington specifically, but in VA it was 74% in 2012. Nationally it was 57% The numbers are declining, so it's probably less now.

We are in DC and wondered the same thing. Our kid was not circumcised, and we’ve wondered what it will be like for him, say, in a locker room if another kid notices, etc.

Among families we knew well around the time it was a hot topic of conversation a decade or so ago when we were all having kids, I learned that only the religious families and one other circumcised. No idea how common in general.

Why does it matter to you?

I don’t think that this is something that is tracked. Maybe a specific hospital could spit out a report, but it wouldn’t be some kind of comprehensive accounting of the circumcised Arlington population.
