The one is Bethesda is short staffed and the tables are never cleaned and the outside area is a total mess. I am sure the building momager/tenants/residents is not happy with tables full of empty dishes and food and trash all over the ground.

plus the entitled people who decide to just park in a traffic lane on Wisconsin avenue.

They were never that great. They were just standard. You thought they were great because they were new and different. But after a while you realized they just serve standard, mass produced pastries, frozen at some point or from frozen dough (yep even when they claim that doesn't happen - it happens)

New City Center location has terrible service.

The turkey in the turkey avocado sandwich was that cheap, slimy from a package type…not good deli turkey. Not worth it at half the price.

Cosi (previously xando) was great when they first started too. Didn’t take long for it to get disgusting. I am sad to hear about this. It happens with most chains that try to takeover. They should slow down

The one in Bethesda hadn’t had issues that I’m aware of. I guess it stands to reason pastries purchased later in the day could dry out a bit.

I was thinking the same thing. I think they tried to expand too quickly and the DC locations do not have the charm of the ones in Boston. Part of what happened is they were faced with crazy large crowds and had to figure out how to mass make their previously high quality products.

Wondering if it’s just us or if others have had a similar experience. When they first launched in West End we would order frequently and really enjoyed the baked goods. But more recently from West End, Dupont, and Bethesda locations everything just seems to taste flat and not as fresh. They must still be popular as they seem to continue expanding rapidly.
