Except that the data on mass shootings includes any incident in which 4 or more people are shot. This way, all those people who hear mass shooting and think, another crazy white guy, can think that the numbers of those incidents are higher than they are. The fact is, when looking at that data, most "mass shootings" included in the data are gang and drug related shootings. As this one mostly likely was. Doesn't make it right, but it's why media is now calling everything mass shooting.
It's equity. Used to be:
White people shoot a few people -- it is mass shooting.
Black people shoot a few black people -- it is murder
Now it's a "mass shooting" to be equitable.
