Washingtonian here. I’ve always been ok with security guards, metal detectors and door screenings. I say we add them to all schools.

We had it rough at times in the 90s but made it thru.

Only people with proper grammar have a right to worry about safety of their children and neighborhoods? What about people with poor manner? Shouldn’t they refrain from posting on education forums?

Yup. After the Heller decision, I can't see any substantial gun control measures surviving a court challenge.

If grown ups are kinder, kids will learn that and grow up to be better people. All school shooters are former kids who were judged, bullied and slighted. That’s right there is one step towards safety. NO government can reform like parents can by joining hands.

Follow the illegal guns and start there. I believe I heard once that many come from
Virginia, no idea if that’s accurate. But most if not all of the shootings are probably guns not obtained legally. I assume while there’s a way to sell guns privately or steal them this will always be an issue.
