Sometimes they make you commit to Capital then let you know later if Orange or Blue making it too late to secure spot on the other team like VA Metro. This is a bad practice as it forces players to decide without having all the information. Capital B is not the same as A. It can really hurt a player to be on a clubs B team v. a lesser club A team. Colleges know it is a B team and the D1 programs want A team players or top players. If on the border much better to stay on your clubs A team. Capital B team parents are always unhappy and have run off multiple coaches.

If you are a top player it is almost assumed that you will try out for CLC. If you make blue then you go CLC, if you make Orange you have a decision. Do you stick with a Pride or MCE "A" team or play for a CLC "B" team? Last year several girls turned down CLC O and went back to their A teams.

This goes for every club. Coaches talk to each other and girls certainly talk. If a girl tries out anywhere outside of her club, everyone will know. Obviously Capital is a different situation than other clubs because there are no teams until HS, but coaches will find out.

If you’re concerned see about a pre-read or early tryout. Most clubs try to accommodate as they understand. Hopefully no player or parent would share tryout information with the original club but sadly I’m sure it happens. But your child should tryout where there’s the potential best fit.

Capital has a B team that is good too. If you don’t make A, it’s not a bad option.

Make sure she has a realistic chance of making it. Has she had any exposure to Capital already? Gone to the pre tryout clinics? If you answer no to both, your DD has a slim to none chance. Coming from DDs that have been through this and got guided by the process.

Of course. 150 players will be there. You will probably see other teammates there. Lol

Yes - if she tries out and doesn’t make it.

Don't think twice about any of it. You don't owe the old club anything and you are leaving for a reason. The poorly run clubs will find out the hard way when you don't come back.

Who cares? It’s a free market. You can play for whomever you want to. You don’t owe a club anything. You pay them, that’s the trade-off.
