I have a senior. From what he’s received, $100 is standard, $150 is generous. $300 would be very generous.

Dang I guess I’m cheap? I was planning on giving my friends daughter $40.

Anything under $100 is cheap anything above $200 is generous

This is so regional/family specific. When I got married a few years ago the largest gift I got was $200. When I graduated high school it was $15 for 2015. Give what you are comfortable giving—but anything over $100 seems overboard to me.

i gave niece and nephews $200. My kid's friends get a lot less.

I'd recommend cash (not a gift card).

I also think $300 is very generous. I'd expect cash gifts to max out at $250 unless from a parent or grandparent.

I think $100-200 is plenty

Hi OP. My dear nephew just graduated from HS and we are giving him a $250 watch and $100 in cash, so $350 total. This is what I was planning to do in cash before he asked for the watch.

It is enough, of course, but OP wants to give a generous gift to a good family friend.

If you go to a different forum you might end up giving her a $10 dollars gift card. Parents on TEEN/Preteens forum are cheap.

$100 was standard when I graduated in 1993. Can’t imagine it still is now.

I think I got $100 back in 2006, but its still a lot for them.
