Our child got in from a traditional feeder without free lunch. In fact we don't know anyone who did get in who had free lunch. Can you say sour grapes?

You probably shouldn’t let yourself be swayed by people on the internet who claim to have sweeping knowledge (“The only kids…”) that they certainly don’t.

Hmm ok bummer. It was a tough transition after virtual bit I decided better to let the kid struggle rather than try to intervene and micromanage.

Is that true about the traditional feeders? Can you please post that data? I want to see the free lunch breakdown by school.

The difference between 'B+' and 'A' in a single subject is tiny in terms of actual points awarded. That difference could be easily made up by a slightly more higher-valued response on SES or essay, so your kid should definitely apply if interested.
