Subject: Snack recipes for 9 y/o who needs to gain weight
When my ADHD kid dropped too much weight when starting meds, we bought lots of croissants for breakfasts and snacks! And those milk bread roll things from TJs were a big hit and have a ton of calories. And guacamole all the time, on chips or toast. I swear those two things along put a couple pounds back on him (and me, unfortunately!)

Will they eat Cliff energy bars Perfect Bars? Those are both 300ish calories each and a good balance of protein, fat, carbs. Not too high in sugar and pretty clean ingredients

Add ghee to everything.
Make snacks that are mini meals - English muffin pizzas, avocado toast, bagels with cream cheese etc.
Serve with some fruit or veggies to add fiber.

Ask your doctor about different ADHD meds or a different dose.

Subject: Snack recipes for 9 y/o who needs to gain weight
My 9 y/o has always been a picky eater. They recently got braces (limiting what they can eat) and started taking a new medicine that decreases their appetite and as a result they have lost significant weight in a short period of time. We can easily add more fat to their diet via adding more oils and butters to things, and making high cal/high fat meals they will eat. We also want to have some high-cal snacks available. Does anyone have recipes for any kind of home made bars or energy balls or cookies that are not only delicious but also calorie dense? If left to their own devices this child would have apples and cheese for every snack. Which, while healthy, isnt going to add back any weight. TIA!
