I would have paid for tickets so family members could have been in person. I would have paid for a streaming service that actually was good quality. I would pay for a DVD if that would recreate the event in a manner that could be seen. None of those were options.

As I joked with my elderly parents, who couldn't travel, "You get what you pay for." They used this phrase on my repeatedly growing up. It was free; we didn't really have high hopes! But they got to see their grandkid go across the stage, and that was evidently the one of the few parts of the ceremony that wasn't frozen up.

NFHS is terrible quality and one of the main reasons why my school is not graduating from the football stadium this year.

Are there thinks at home to improve video quality? Or is that an issue with the school equipment? (Our videos are notoriously blurry and out of focus).

Ideally stream with a wired connection rather than via wifi. If wifi is a must, make sure your streaming device is really close to the wifi access point.

Why are schools giving out more information? Free or pay and setting up accounts is something that needs to be done before the event particularly to help grandparents who are technologically challenged.

NP here. I'm in the same boat as OP (a grandparent can't attend due to limited tickets) and wanted to give the streaming info. So... your other child could watch the livestrem, no fees attached (although the quality sucked?)

It's what Blair used last week. It was free. My graduate's sibling was home sick and tried to watch the livestream (which is, as you noted, terrible quality) but it only worked at the beginning; it had frozen up by the time our kid crossed the stage. I believe it was recorded, though.

Our high school just sent the streaming link for the 2022 Graduation Ceremony on the football field. The live stream will be live streamed through the NFHS Network.

For athletics, this was a pay to use service. Does this mean family who cannot attend due to the lack of tickets will be forced to pay to watch the ceremony live?

Why isn’t MCPS using the same streaming options as they use for ceremonies at DAR or the Comcast Center.

Also, our camera at our school has horrendously bad picture quality. Is NFHS what other schools are using for their graduations on the football field?
