Public school enrollment has declined considerably across the board since the pandemic. We are one family of many I know that left ACPS. Not sure yet if we’ll eventually return, at least not for the time being. Way too much chaos in the system at this moment.

You can look up the numbers in the school board archives page and finding the meetings with the membership presentations. Here are a couple examples:

George Mason: 442 (9/19) -> 386 (9/20) -> 328 (9/21) [down 114]
Lyles-Crouch: 484 (9/19) -> 441 (9/20) -> 391 (9/21) [down 93]

What are the enrollment numbers of ACPS schools pre-pandemic and currently? Has your DC's school, particularly at the elementary level, lost a lot of families to the pandemic?
