I've taken my well behaved 3 year old to Albi. Highly recommend!

I've taken my 3 year old to China Chilcano and Zatinya and both places were really great (Zatinya especially because of all that pita they put on the table, my kid loves pita and hummus). I imagine Oyamel and Jaleo would work great too.

I sat outside and went for lunch, he was not the only kid there. Early dinners would be fine too.

DP- you never know someone’s personal situation so I find this advice a tad rude. You don’t know about any issues or situation the child may be facing, if one of the parents has a history of being abused, so are not comfortable setters, etc. There are a lot of things that go on in people lives that influence the reasons why they do things. And for some of us getting a random sitter isn’t worth it. After our child had a scary medical incident we are not comfortable being away from them for almost a year. I can’t tell you how many people told us to leave our child behind so we can have time alone. We didn’t want that. Had we done it too early we would’ve been concerned the entire time. We waited until we were ready and that made it all and
more better.

We go regularly to Clyde's in Chevy Chase (and have also been to Clyde's Tower Oaks in Rockville). Both are kid friendly. Our kids love the train that goes around the ceiling at the Chevy Chase location. Also, after dinner, as long as we stay out of the way of the servers, they like to go and visit the various models and to see the large car model downstairs. We've been going there since they were about 4-5.

We did this years ago at Brasserie Beck and I remember the staff was super nice.

I'd choose somewhere and go early. Dress him up. It will be fun.

What about Fiola mare on the Georgetown waterfront? I’ve often seen well behaved children there. He can people watch if you eat outside.

OP here. For a variety of reasons, unfortunately, we can't. Don't have a sitter at all and family doesn't live in the area.

Most places are kid friendly when you go early, say around 5pm or so.

We are looking for a relatively nice restaurant that is kid friendly. I don’t need a kid menu - our son is a very good eater and loves trying new things. Anyhow, welcome recommendations since we can’t find a sitter and thought it actually would be a nice idea to have our son there.

Centrolina comes to mind as being relatively kid friendly but I am looking for others as well.
