NIH has one for children, you could check with them to see if they have a similar study for adults.

Almost every family has one for whatever reason. Not that uncommon.

One out of a family of four doesn’t mean it is common. Just because you know multiple people who had this happen doesn’t mean that it’s not scientifically important. Scientists are looking at people who have been repeatedly exposed to Covid to see if there’s anything different about their genetics, immune system, etc. It helps with a better vaccine creation, treatment, etc.

I also have autoimmune issues, and have never gotten covid, despite a lot of exposure.

Maybe her doctor could test her for antibodies. Make sure it’s nucleocapsid not just spike or combined seniquant.

It may turn out she had it.

Don’t get to cocky. I’d avoided several close contacts, including both my kids months ago, but it finally got me. We’ll see if my DH holds out though. We already suspect that there’s some natural immunity on his side of the family…his 90-something grandmother has been carrying on like it’s 2019 without a sniffle.

Thankfully it’s a very mild case.

There is nothing special about her. The vaccine did it's job.

I have a very weak immune system - a confirmed diagnosis. I get practically every cold Im exposed to (multiple throughout the year) and the flu is very bad for me. When my family got COVID (close contact before we knew they were sick), I did not get it. It’s very strange But One theory is that I could have T cell protection from all the cold viruses I’ve had throughout the years.

Me and my daughters have had multiple close exposures and have not 'to our knowledge' got covid-but you can't really know for sure. It's possible we, and your dd OP, have had it asymptomatically.

There are plenty of people who haven’t had Covid. Why are you shocked that her vaccines worked?

Research on people who seem to have a lower susceptibility to Covid is happening.

It’s also possible that she has had an asymptomatic infection and had a false negative test.

DD has never gotten covid. Everyone else in our family has had covid, so she's been exposed multiple times. Her boyfriend got covid. Her roommate got covid. She's been tested multiple times. Her roommate got covid a second time two weeks ago, yet DD tested negative on both rapid and PCR tests.

Would covid researchers be interested in studying someone like DD?

I'm genuinely curious how she avoided getting infected with covid. She's fully vaxxed, as is everyone she knows who got covid, yet she has never gotten it.

The only thing I can think is that she got mono in college, and she had a mysterious auto-immune thing we think might have been lyme disease in high school. Maybe those prior infections protected her? Or something completely unknown is at work here?
