I’ve been to Xoco and Topolobampa in the past 5? years which leaves me thinking Frontera Grill is probably my sweet spot but at this point that’s more my memory (from the early days) than a real time comparison. Compare menus and choose that way.

Food halls in Chicago can be fun (e.g. Revival) and my kid also loved Eataly.

The Bayless sandwiches we got while flying through OHare 10 years ago is one of my to five food memories. Mind was some sort of spicy brisket. So good

We're driving but I'll be on the lookout!

Try Maders in Milwaukee, a famous old style German restaurant. Also the third ward area has lots of restaurants...the benelux Cafe is very casual and has great rooftop seating.

I know about Lou Malnati's/Portillos/Al's Beef but I'm looking for some other things. I'd like to try a Rick Bayless restaurant (which one?) and some other Mexican food. We'll have a fairly adventurous 10 year old with us.
I know nothing about Milwaukee. We will be going to baseball games in both cities so proximity to the fields is helpful but not necessary.
