This is very school-specific. At my school we do not use iPads for assessments and quizzes generally. We send home plenty of paper student work. Almost nothing is done on the ipad that is a work product. We use them for lexia, dreambox, research, and sometimes review games like Kahoot.

This is not true. There is heavy reliance on iPads, but it is not "all electronic."
