Anecdotally from friends: CMU, UChicago, JHU, Swarthmore, Princeton (allegedly due to grade deflation), Vanderbilt (niece tried to be pre-med), and my youngest niece complains about Rhodes College.

Because the university did not immediately remove the student. It's been a few years now. Has this student graduated?

Heard the same about Rice many years ago.

I think Johns Hopkins has a reputation for behing very hard.

A lot of state schools with loose admissions standards set by state law are very tough on freshmen.

Are many white men entitled blowhards? Yes. But universities are supposed to be places of free exchange of ideas, so telling a group to just shut up and listen just because they happen to be Caucasian with a Y chromosome is way off the mark.

funny - I actually found it opposite when I was there. That said, a lot of my friends were always like "it is SO hard" and it was called Work Forest.

I didn't find it overly challenging, but I also wasn't majoring in a particularly difficult subject. There were a TON of kids who were pre-med, so there were definitely weed-out courses for that. And I know accounting was also difficult.

I was the annoying person writing term papers the night before they were due and getting good grades. I also didn't kill myself because I wasn't planning on trying for a competitive grad school. I got my degree with honors in the end.
