They don't care. it's not the gun, it's the person holding the gun that's the problem.

You must have missed all the mass murders by cartels in Mexico, which has some of the most strict gun laws out there. Criminals will always get the guns they want, OP. Gun control is not the answer.

You think that sitting out means really voting GOP? Is this true even if you’re normally a GOP supporter? If so, then you’re saying most of the country is right-leaning, which we’re told over and over again is not the case. So confused here.

Republican voters think they are part of the “Special Elite Club” and that only poor dirty Democrats need to worry about gun violence.

They literally have no clue that they are the mark.

They don’t have a “reasoning”. Their daddy was a Republican, so they are Republicans. They believe republicans are the party of the hardworking white man and ladylike white woman. Their identity is wrapped in that vision and they mostly have no clue what these politicians do or don’t do for people like them. They think Democrats are moochers. They don’t believe in government, so they don’t actually expect politicians to do anything. They *think* it only hurts “those moochers”. Anyone who still votes Republican is either ignorant or crazy- they have zero policies and don’t give a crap about public service.

My idiot cousin, whose 75 year old, not in the greatest of health father, tested positive for COVID yesterday. Luckily my uncle is vaxxed and boosted and has the meds and is likely going to be just fine. My cousin is convinced that this is just a cold and that all COVID tests come up positive so that the government can control us. Control us to do what, I have no idea. I also have COVID right now (unrelated to my uncle) and have taken about 15 tests since March of 2020. All negative, until the one I took on Tuesday. And I definitely have COVID, my whole household, who has also never tested positive, has COVID. The fact that he is denying basic science is astounding. I truly do not get it.

They just aren't smart. That's just it.

I'm going to be begging people that if they can't vote for a Democrat, at least don't vote for a Republican and abstain from voting this cycle

My uncle is a very staunch Republican who didn't love Trump but didn't hate him either. He's a responsible gun owner, but I don't know if this would push him over to the Democratic side. I think you'd probably just abstain from voting

Today, Uvalde has taught us that even police officers with guns aren't able to protect your children. Even when they have backup. And lots of guns.
And by the way, the Parkland officer ran away from the school too.
These police officers are probably men who have grown up believing that they would be able to shoot the bad guys. Ha.

why would you continue to vote for politicians that won't pass gun laws and won't support bills that provide for mental health services?
I truly want to know 1) Can you put yourself in the shoes of parents whose children have been murdered in school by legally purchased assault rifles? and 2) If even the horrifying nightmare of your own babies dying would lead to connect the dots

I am not a troll. I want to know what your reasoning behind putting gun supporters in office are.
