Husband likes driving it because, in sport mode, it is actually quite fast--two rear electric motors + gas engine give it serious kick. With 455 horse power, acceleration is great. (In battery-only mode, how we usually drive it, acceleration is just fine.) For long road trips (we've taken two going far out of range of battery), the engine does fine. The engine alone isn't going to win an award, but it has been plenty of power for us and decent mileage.
We're incredibly happy with it so far. It hit all our desires: Plug-in hybrid; fits 3 kids + 3 adults reasonably comfortably; not a minivan; and has a "fun" factor. We looked broadly, and this was the only car we found that really hit each of those objectives for us.
Happy to answer any questions you might have if I can.

Pretty wimpy for such a heavy car.
Horsepower is 400-455. Not bad.
0-60 is in the 5 second range. Not bad.
Did you test drive? Feel zippy enough?
I haven't rest drien the plug in, but the xc90 inscription, I believe. I have driven most V8 suvs and I was VERY skeptical of the 4 cyl. I will admit, it was quite peppy. Kind of in a tinny type of way. In the end, I didn't trust the supply chain with China enough to buy one.
What parts are sourced from China?

And I thought I saw some 2022s in inventory? But they were all white.
