Ummm.....it's May.....

Good Friday is in May?

What are you blathering about? OP's post is from 5/25. You have no idea if they started indoors or not either.

No one in this entire thread has said they planted in April.

Yes they have. Learn to read.

My husband always plants late, so we have tomatoes until well in October.

I am on the struggle bus. I always plant on good Friday. The rapid changes in temperature made my Spinach and broccoli shoot, and stunted my tomatoes and peppers. All but the Spinach were transplanted. Even though I planted my bok choy two+ weeks ago, it is shooting too. I've decided to let the tomatoes be, and I will replace the peppers if I have the energy.

Yeah my tomatoes have been doing great but my peppers and eggplants have not done much since I planted in the ground last week. Looks like it will be warmer again next week though.

+1 Mine have only been in the ground since Mother's Day. I don't mind a wet start to get them established; it'll be scorching hot soon enough.

Too cool and early in the season for them to grow in earnest

No, the rain has been great for my tomatoes. But they are in containers and were kept inside until about a month ago.

My plants seem to be growing slowly this year, and I don't think they will produce until August/Sept at this rate. My peppers are growing extremely slow. My soil and everything is very good - I got the soil tested. I suspect it is the blasted cool weather that keeps hanging around and torrents of rain that keep coming all at once. Is anyone else having issues? I'm so sick and tired of this DMV weather. The forecast has a nice prediction of a week of rain and overcast skies that will ruin Memorial Day weekend too.
