Local police are in bed with many of these rightwingers threatening school boards. Particularly in Red areas of the country. They won’t lift a finger, if they are not paid by the school district and look the other way when legit threats are made.

Virginia was horrific for anyone who knows what was actually going on. School board meetings were being infiltrated by extremist right wing activists from all around the country falsely posing as local school district parents. School board members, their families, and other school faculty and officials were being threatened with murder, having themselves and their families raped, tortured and murdered, and their homes burnt to the ground.

It was engineered and orchestrated.

Anyone trying to claim "oh it was just peaceful engagement by concerned local parents" is either clueless or intentionally lying.

Right wing nuts, including many who are not school parents, have been threatening school boards, principals, teachers, librarians who are supposedly woke if they do not ban any history or literature content that does not worship great white men and do not burn all potentially enlightening books. This is what Republicans have encouraged and enabled because fear and prejudice is all they have to offer.

Recently a school board in TX tried to silence a parent but was sued for killing free speech.

A parent was arrested for asking questions, it means the school board - who works for us - think they’re kings.

But public schools are so bad private school enrollment has shot up.

I switched and did what I could ti send my kid ti a parochial school even though I’m not Catholic. My kids better a better education by far, way ahead of their peers in academics and we’re in school despite others being out last year.

Took a hit financially but way better off for the kids. Plus no woke trash. Minus the faith based curriculum which is one small block a week plus a mass it’s lots of academics. Lots of homework every day but one at fourth grade is reading at a ninth grade level and math is at a seventh grade level and the fifth grader is already learning algebra. I wasn’t at that age

In my nieces' small town in Michigan, MAGA militants from around the country, some with guns, flooded the school board meeting to address CRT which was not taught, FYI. We have to understand how right wing extremists, some of whom are domestic terrorists, white supremacists/anti-Semites, are activated to to violence in this country, including at our schools.

Sounds very Fidel Castro to me. They were begging the military to come to school board meetings to intimidate parents. The White House helped draft the letter to help deploy the military on parents. Now concerned parents are enemies of the Biden admin? Looks like it.
