I second the Parents League suggestion. I also know people who moved to NYC and were admitted (full pay) to “Top Tier” schools - if your family is a good fit, schools can make it happen. Let Parents League help you with your initial list, and then also reach out to any of the “Top Tier” schools you’re interested in and see if they’ll bring you in for an interview/assessment.

Former NYC-er here. Look into the Parents League. They can help and generally know which schools still have openings. It’s entirely possible since people are still leaving the city and opening up spots in all grades. That said, 3rd grade can be tough.

Yes, they currently attend private school overseas. Yes, we will engage with the head of school but thought maybe someone had other specific suggestions.

We found out we are moving to NYC recently from overseas and have an incoming third grader. Is there any hope in getting them into a private school at this point?
