OP you sound great & thanks for creating this thread! Wish you all the best.

These 2 questions are NOT for you specifically, but:

- what do other TJ students think about the school board’s alterations to TJ admissions? Also,

- how do other / older students view those students who were only admitted because of the SB’s alterations to the admissions policy?

No. People claimed that a kid with a B in 8th grade Algebra 1 will get eaten alive by the TJ math department.

What foreign language would you recommend for someone that’s not taken a language prior to TJ? And why?

That is available on the FCPS profiles page. This year, TJ's class of 2025 (freshmen) is down 13 students up until last month, April. In 2012-13, data shows 13 freshmen had also left TJ by April. So, it's not out of the ordinary.

What do you think about the C4TJ group?

What have you most enjoyed about your TJ experience so far? What are some thing you don’t like about the TJ experience? (Other than a longer commute, if that’s one)

Hey there! DCUM is often the first search result that pops up for TJ-related questions (which is why a lot of incoming TJ students end up knowing what it is/seeing it I think). It sucks that there are so many trolls, but I'm really thankful for all of the TJ parents who offer useful information!

No, and no. I love our current freshmen and I can't wait to meet our new ones!

I don’t think kids should be on this forum. And definitely not 8th graders. We have plenty of TJ parents (me included) who try to offer truthful information, and, unfortunately, a huge number of people who hate TJ with no actual experience with the school who post on every TJ thread.

Do you recommend any summer courses for the rising freshman? If yes, which ones?

If you could do it all over, would you go with TJ or stick with your base school? Why?

Hi there!
I know that this isn't a typical post, but I noticed that there's a lot of TJHSST-related speculation here and I wanted to make sure that the incoming freshman start off on the right foot. This forum was certainly very important to me as an 8th and 9th grader, so I want to make sure that the incoming freshmen are making informed decisions regarding their academic careers.

For context, I'm currently a junior at TJHSST and a lot of the advice I will (might, depending on the number of questions) be offering is advice I received from other seniors or juniors.
