Would you attend the concert as a family?
Or just have one parent attend the concert while one parent takes other child to sport?

Before Covid, we absolutely always attended concerts and recitals.
. If they aren't going to attend pre-schoolers recitals/play when they are at college, let them decide. It isn't fair to make pre-schooler go if eldest got to play blocks instead.

You are way overthinking this.

Both parents attend. If this means preschooler needs to go then they go. Otherwise, I'd probably hve it depend on how well the preschooler would handle it.

If older sibling's event is important, and they can get a ride, they can miss the concert and go. If it's just practice, then they skip.

I wouldn’t care if my kids went or not. If they’re busy with other things, it’s fine to miss. But if they aren’t busy and aren’t old enough to stay home alone then they need to go.

Preschoolers No; school aged kids, yes unless they have their own cannot miss event. Practice can be missed. Both parents attend.

Presumably the band concert is a weeknight. If so, is the sport a practice and not a game? If so, everyone goes to the concert to support middle kid.

Yeah, anything to get out of the band concert! Mom included.

If you really think it will be meaningful to wrangle your preschooler at a sibling’s band concert, have at it.

Our public school has a band concert. One child is young (preschool) and other child has sports.

Would you attend the concert as a family?
Or just have one parent attend the concert while one parent takes other child to sport?

Before Covid, we absolutely always attended concerts and recitals.
