Hi OP. I was diagnosed with severe adenomyosis before baby 1, conceived via IUI, then had a healthy baby. To my drs surprise, after pregnancy the adenomyosis disappeared. Had a second baby via IVF.

OP here again. Floated by to see if anymore responses. To PP, thank you also for sharing your experience - and congratulations on your two boys (although I am so sorry for the scary NICU experience). Although anecdotal, I really do appreciate these shares as I navigate my decision making with the doctors.

I have stage IV endo and adeno, and have two IVF babies now. Be sure to get on a steroid (medrol, pred), to help calm the inflammation pre FET. I will say my two were born spontaneously at 31 and 34 weeks, and my doctors have suggested the adeno was to blame for the premature deliveries. Both my boys are thriving, though I do not wish a long NICU stay on anyone. Good luck to you!

OP here again. Thank you to both PPs for sharing your experiences as well. This is definitely shaping up to be a much more difficult journey than I thought, although at least one of you has given me a smidgen of hope. The doctor has so far suggested something similar - a Lupron 3 month treatment to see if it can control the adenomyosis sufficiently to attempt an FET - but I am considering the risks that the other PPs also mentioned - miscarriages or stillbirths - versus the complicated emotions and costs of considering surrogacy. It will be difficult decision. Thank you all for your thoughts and sending you warm thoughts and hopes for your own journeys.

Mine was also diagnosed in a similar manner to pp. I have many failures but I think it's embryo related and not ademyosis related. I also had endometriosis. I used Lupron for 3 months prior to transfer and it worked.

OP, I am very sorry to hear about your recent diagnosis. During my second round of IVF, my Shady Grove doctor said as we were about to do the transfer, "Did you know that you have adenomyosis?"

I was of course completely panicked, especially after I got home and consulted Dr. Google.

I did end up with a pregnancy, but it unfortunately did not end well. Around 24 weeks, my daughter had no heartbeat, and I delivered a still born baby after a horrendous night.

Now, no one has ever said that there was a direct correlation between the two, but I was so far along and this is the likeliest explanation.

Was recently diagnosed with adenomyosis (uterine lining growing into the uterine muscular wall). I was wondering if anyone has had a similar diagnosis/experience in their IVF/infertility journey and any stories from the trenches on how it might have played into FETs and any pregnancy subsequently. I admit this has me a bit worried as there seems to be a lot of uncertainty on how adenomyosis might effect infertility (even less data than endometriosis) - so I am in the least hoping anecdotal experience might help me know more.
