My info is a little old, but we had our child at BCDS for aftercare and it worked well for us. They had homework/quiet time, snack time, outdoor time. The teachers there are used to the little kids, so we had a good experience for our AES K kid. The bus isn't too hard; the teachers collect all the bus information and guide the K kids in the beginning and then by about the 2nd week, kids just learn the color bus they take and they get on it without a problem.

There used to be more providers, but perhaps demand is down since COVID.

I have a rising kindergartener in the fall at Ashburton Elementary and wondering about before / after care. My kid is on the waitlist for the one at the school, which obviously would be the most convenient and about which I've heard good things. As far I know, the other choices are at the YMCA and at Bethesda Country Day, to which kids are bused (which isn't ideal). Are those the only other two options? Can anyone provide any feedback, experiences, what they've heard about either or both? All the reviews I can find are really old. Much appreciated!
