I ordered shares from Cold Country Salmon. We also really like the rockfish. We cook fish a lot and I consider high quality. You can also buy from them at farmer's markets. Their burgers are also good and different than frozen ones from Trident (which I also like). None of it is cheap but I justify it because it's healthy and tasty and convenient (we have a chest freezer so buying in bulk with the shares makes sense for our family).

PS I refuse to eat canned salmon. Just don’t do it, ever!

Worked salmon harvest in AK in late 80s. The annual run is July/August so anything arriving outside those months will have been frozen. Not saying it’s not worth it, just be aware. Imho AK wild salmon can’t be beat.

Also was a great adventure for a college student, highly recommend for the right kid. Went with my BF in an old VW van. Camped out. Very fun.

Yes. I’ve been reasonably happy with alaska home pack. There are a bunch of choices and loved it during the pandemic. Tended to prefer getting it shipped during the winter though.

Has anyone bought wild salmon directly from a source in Alaska? Any source ideas? I'd like to have some in the freezer.
