Are you a Gen Z teacher, OP? 22 year olds probably didn't learn cursive in school, so what she's saying is she can't read it.

I'm a HS teacher and my default is cursive. If students don't understand what I wrote, I'll print. But that takes so. damn. long.

As a teacher who loves to write notes and long letters in cursive, I am not sure what your gripe here is.

It doesn't really matter what the note says. Have you seen the notes written by my kids' pediatrician? Entirely illegible. That's beside the point, really. All anyone needs to know is that it's a note from the parent or doctor.

Huh? Of course if I write a note to my kids’ teachers I am aiming for it to be read.

It takes me forever to print and I struggle to stay level. I can write cursive very quickly and stay level without lines

So that my kids can get more practice reading cursive. They need all the practice they can get, they see and use it so seldom.

Please, please, reassure me that you are not a teacher responsible for educating our children. Please.
