I think the medela symphony is the gold standard but I would do some research about how it compares to the Spectra.

I’ve had success getting my supply back after stopping. When my baby was 4 months I got Lyme Disease and couldn’t breastfeed while taking the medication. I tried pump and dump for a week but then decided to switch to formula and completely stopped pumping for the last 2 weeks or so. My baby ended up not liking formula (I tried so many kinds!) so I started pumping again with my Spectra. I started 20min every 3 hours and right before bed (even if it hadn’t been a full 3 hrs). After maybe 5 days of exclusively pumping and adding in breastfeeding my schedule looked like: 5:30am pump 20min (I like to exercise early in the morning), 7:30am nurse; ~10am pump 20min at work; 1pm pump 20min at work; 5:00 nurse; 7:30pm nurse to sleep; 10pm pump 20min. I supplemented with a bottle after the nursing sessions until my supply came back, I think that was within 7-10 days. I was able to continue breastfeeding (and pumping at work) until I decided to wean at 1 year. Good luck!

This site is very anti breastfeeding or supplementing. I would never support this site.

You think kellymom is anti breastfeeding?

Anti non breastfeeding.

They are. But they have exactly the kind of advice OP needs to re-lactate.

OP here. What is a hospital grade pump? I have a Spectra S1 still in the box. Will that work? How often do I need to pump and what supplements should I take? My supply hasn’t fully dried up but it’s definitely decreased I’ve the past week.

Also try adding compressions when pumping. I was a champion pumper but got almost nothing without compressions.

Yes, 2 weeks is not that long. But you will probably have to pump a lot to get a steady supply back. Recommend renting a hospital grade pump.

Also FYI Many don’t recommend fenugreek because in some it can decrease supply (mine tanked when I tried it.)

Oops autocorrect error should say relactation not relaxation.

Are you still producing milk? If so, start pumping like crazy. Like every two hours, start taking supplements ( fenugreek, brewers yeast, flax seed), and drink a ton of water. If you’re not producing anymore, it’s unlikely you will get it back.

I say pump because if you have latch issues, you will need to know if you’re getting anything. You always try to breastfeed later on or stick to exclusively pumping if that works for you. I would try to stock up on formula, find a milk bank, or make your own as a last resort.

You can get it back.

I breastfeed for a lotto over a month and we had latch issues and I just wasn’t that into it. I had to supplement and bought formula and decided formula was easier making everyone more happy. It’s been two weeks and I’m starting to regret my decision because of formula shortage. Is there any possible way I can get my supply back or am I doomed?
