Really? I’m a 42 year old Susan and never got any comments. My mom did however.

Well, it peaked in 1975 at #3 and has now fallento #977. On the other hand, grandma names are often popular. Give it a few more years and there might be lots of baby Heathers named for their grandmothers!

I love it, OP, and I've never met a Heather I didn't like. Plus the plant is lovely so it has that nice connection with nature.

I told very very few people our babies names before they were born. When people would press, I'd simply say we were trying to fend off any negative feedback and that seemed to check a lot of people.

Who in America doesn’t know that, PP?

You’d be surprised what millennials and gen z don’t know.

I love heather! I knew a pretty girl with that name growing up and always named my dolls that. I think flower names will never go away and will come back in style

Ignore them and go with the name you love. The silly comments will stop once she is born or shortly after. It is a pretty name that will likely become more popular again given time.

People only say their name opinions before a baby is born, not afterwards.

I met a little Donna the other day. I loved hearing that name again!

Definitely use Heather!

Who cares what other people think? Teach your daughter that sentiment and she'll be perfectly fine with her name.

I got the same thing when I named my DD Kelly (for my sister who passed away). My DD seems to love her name and I’ve noticed people smiling when she tells them.

Heather is a pretty name!

Hopefully one day people will learn not to comment on things like this. I don’t think you’ll get a ton but who cares? If you love it forever you use it.

I have always loved the name Heather. Everyone raises an eyebrow or says “wow, I haven’t heard that since the 80’s”.

I don’t mind for me but is my daughter going to get those comments?
