By 5th grade ~90+% of kids are already identified. They could have run the middle school TAG lottery way earlier so that people who had to decide about private school could make a decision.
They didn't do the OLSAT this year for the 2nd graders, they did the CoGAT and many kids (including my own) didn't make the cut off because it really isn't a test of giftedness. I took my son for private testing and his score went from the 50% percentile to the 89% percentile. If fewer kids made the initial cut, then there should have been fewer teacher evaluations etc. to process.
And I know that they didn't test 3rd graders at all. I think maybe 1st, 2nd and 4th?
I understand it is a ton of work but letting folks know in May is super late.
