I would get a good wax or ceramic coating. Also consider you do not want to use the cover unless the car is perfectly clean which means washing before putting the cover on. Otherwise the intent to protect the paint will be made worse by scratching it with dirt and debris between the car cover and the paint.

They are light, but you only want to put it on once the engine is cool to be safe, so park your car, then come out again an hour later to put on the cover.

For a rarely-driven car that's fine, but for daily driver too much hassle.

You’re nuts. Just get a car wash periodically.

You won't use it if you drive with any frequency. If it is just sitting, they're ok. But you will quickly lose interest in hauling it out and putting it on and taking it off and storing it.

We don't garage our car, and it is parked under a big tree. I'm thinking of a car cover, but wondering if it would be more pain than its worth. After all, you have to take it off with presumably all the crap that fell on it. I wonder if they are heavy, unmanageable, and get you dirty.

Yeas or nays?
