Sure, but what a mess up that parents heard about it first from PBES principal instead. So strange.

Principals usually have to deal with an incident as it's unfolding, instead of spending time emailing parents.

You missed the point entirely. Why did the principal email the nearby elementary school with details before she emailed parents?

Quickly emailing a nearby school that might also have to deal with an issue - before emailing parents who can do nothing but worry - is appropriate.

The nearby school was not impacted. But parents were.

Anonymous wrote:PBES P? That makes no sense at all. Did the email originate from there?

The email was sent from TPMS to PBES and who knows who else, but not parents. About ten or 15 mins later another longer more detailed but substantially similar message was sent to parents, along with a robocall. It wasn’t a big deal at the end of the day but some parents had been freaking out with not knowing what was going on and it was surprising to hear first from PBES.

I mean, maybe the PBES principal should have slowed their roll to ensure appropriate communications protocols?

Possibly but emails are queued so the order in which you get them isn't realtime or always indicative of when they were sent. My partner often gets them long before or after me.

A good manager knows how to delegate so these things are taken care of...

Absolutely. Ms. martin seems great. I was at the PTA meeting last week and she was so involved.

It was a false report of a potentially threatening individual entering campus. All is well.
