You mean are the international planes nicer than domestic ones? They do use bigger planes to go to Europe, but they're the same planes that fly domestically. The seats are usually identical.

I found that taking a Tylenol PM helped me fall asleep on overnight flights. It didn't make me feel terrible either if I only got 4-5 hours of sleep, I could wake up pretty easily considering the situation.

Benadryl for kids, red wine for me.

I usually take a travel sick pill that also makes me drowsy and helps me sleep.

The flight isn't that long, and if you're leaving in the evening (East Coast time), you'll be arriving in London in the middle of the night (like 1 or 2am East Coast time). I wouldn't want to be in a sleeping pill coma at that point. Better off having glass of wine and just trying to sleep without meds. You'll feel better when you have to wake up at 2am.

I'd rather not sleep at all than medicate myself and fall into a stupor. The reason for this is that blood clots are more frequent on planes, and hours of deep sleep will heighten that risk significantly, because your legs at in a prime blood-clotting position (not stretched out and horizontal like in bed, but bent at the knee and lower than the rest of your body).

So no.

Just buy generic benedryl or unisom.

Melatonin may work too. The older I get, the harder it is for me to sleep on airplanes though.

I would take an ambien personally. Done this many times to England.

When I fly international, I'm in coach/economy. I'm going to need more than a Zzzquil for sleep.

Zzzquil is literally Benadryl. Diphenhydramine HCL = Benadryl= zzzquil

Yes but do one Zzquil Ultra. Love that stuff.

I tried a sleeping pill and beer (probably not a smart move)for a 12-hour overnight flight. I didn’t sleep a wink.

I typically drink their little bottle of wine and am out like a light. I think that's the purpose of the alcohol. I've had friends say the one beer puts them to sleep too.

London is a pretty short flight. What about half a unisom sleep tab? I take that when I need to sleep like before an interview or something very important where I might be a bit anxious.

Is it safe to take Zzzquil in an airplane?
