Go to the North End. Find the smallest, least impressive hole in the wall restaurant you can, preferably where everyone in the kitchen is over age 60 and speak little to no English. Eat best pizza.

Which Santarpio’s location is original/best? I found three locations.

This. Providence actually has a great variety of decently well done pizza styles.

Lots of comparisons out there http://onceuponasmallbostonkitchen.blogspot.com/2011/05/santarpios-vs-reginas-which-ones-better.html but I found the staff at Santarpio’s a little too grumpy for me and I’m a native.

+1 agree, Regina's is awesome.

Are you moving to Boston proper? If so, I agree with pp. if south shore, south shore bar pizza is amazing- thin crust. Lynwood’s is the gold standard and worth the drive to Randolph. Most grocery stores sell Cape Cod cafe pizza (south shore bar pizza style) in the frozen section. Follow the instructions (do not cook in a cookie sheet) and it’s good for homemade frozen.

There is a good thread on Best DC pizza places, but I need a beginner’s guide to Boston pizza.

Will be grateful for any suggestions.
